Consumer Debt

We collect our fee after you make the first payment on the new balance.

And, sometimes missing a deadline can be costly. We will make sure your documents are electronically or personally  filed on time and with the right court. We will show you how to access your case so you stay up-to-date about your case, and always prepared for court.

Our Freelance Paralegal has 7 yrs. experience in CA and AZ civil procedure and litigation, and is well-versed in the FRCP. How much do debt settlement/relief services cost?

Most debt settlement companies charge 15%-25% of your debt amount in exchange for their services. So, if you owe $10K, you could end up paying as much as $2,500 for the debt settlement company’s assistance, regardless of how much they saved you by negotiating a lower balance. Alternatively, PS Legal Services will collect a fee of 10% of the settlement savings on each settled account, and you remain in control of your accounts without having to pay monthly service fees or set up a third-party deposit account. Plus, fees are not due until both you and the creditor have agreed to the settlement in writing, and the first payment toward the new balance has been made.

  • PS Legal Services will never offer an estimate or a specified amount or percentage of savings when it comes to settling a debt. All services and enrollment details are disclosed during consultation.

What is a Certified Consumer Debt Specialist?

A Certified Consumer Debt Specialist, "CDS" or "CCDS" is a professional designation awarded to debt settlement professionals who pass a certification exam. They are skilled in consumer finance management, debt restructuring of defaulted accounts, debt counseling, and settlement negotiations. The CCDS designation is awarded by the International Association of Professional Debt Arbitrators (IAPDA) and the Center for Financial Certifications, allowing those who successfully complete the education and training to use the designated "CDS" or "CCDS" after their name. Every two years, specialists must complete 20 hours of continuing education and pay a fee to retain the designation.

  • Note: The accreditation and certification of a Debt Relief company and/or their Debt Specialists is an important feature to consider when deciding enrollment into a debt settlement program.
